vivian clark
Clinical Director
Hello!Vivian Clark has spent more than sixteen years doing the kind of clinical work that most people don't see, the slow, steady, unglamorous work of sitting with someone until they're ready to look at the thing they've been carrying. She is the Clinical Director of Healing Pathways Foundation and the founder of Arise Destiny LLC, a private practice she built in Charlotte over thirteen years ago. Both roles reflect the same belief: that people already know their own story better than anyone else, and that the clinician's job is to help them trust that knowing.
She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Independent Social Worker–Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) who specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, addiction, substance abuse, and personal growth. But the credential that tells you the most about how she practices is her certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children ages eight to eighteen. Vivian is someone who chose to work with the youngest, most vulnerable people in the room, the ones who don't yet have the language to explain what happened to them. She also provides in-home services, school-based services, and group home services across Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas, meeting children and families where they actually are, not just where a clinic happens to be located.
As Clinical Director at Healing Pathways Foundation, Vivian provides clinical supervision to the Foundation's growing team of therapists and clinicians, including direct oversight of associate-level practitioners working toward full licensure. She is the person responsible for making sure that every clinician who serves a Healing Pathways Foundation client meets the standard, holds the ethics, and brings the same care into the room that she would bring herself. She shapes clinical protocols, guides treatment approaches, and holds the line between good intentions and good practice.
Vivian does this work because she has seen what happens when someone finally has the courage to take the first step toward change and she has seen what it costs when there is no one there to walk beside them when they do.
