Angela Devereaux

Hello!

Angie Devereaux is a second-year Master of Social Work student at the University of Kentucky, with an emphasis in clinical social work. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, understood, and empowered to discover their own capacity for healing and growth.

Angie believes that people are the experts of their own lived experiences. Her approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, recognizing that our lives are shaped by both our individual stories and the relationships, communities, and systems that surround us. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, she enjoys helping people identify their strengths, make meaning of their experiences, and move toward the life they want to create.

Her experience with Hearts United for Good, a Charlotte-based nonprofit addressing food insecurity, strengthened her understanding of the ways systems and circumstances are connected to individual and family well-being. Through this work, she developed skills in community outreach, advocacy, resource navigation, and relationship-building, while deepening her interest in systems-level change.

At the heart of Angie’s work is a belief in the healing power of connection—connection with ourselves, with others, with our communities, and with the natural world. She is a certified Forest Therapy Guide and values the ways nature can support presence, reflection, and well-being.

Outside of social work, Angie loves being a mother to her two daughters, running, spending time outdoors, and watercolor painting.
